May 2022-Onward to Tennessee! Finally! Only a few days here until we head to the Kentucky Derby! But first, we had to make a stop at the Bristol Speedway and hit the local brewery!
Then, we were off to the Derby! If you haven’t been to the Kentucky Derby…GO! AMAZING! Literally didn’t even know it was on my bucket list but The Derby should be on EVERYONE’S bucket list. The best day! So much fun! Enjoyed the drinks a bit too much but hey, I was trying to collect a full set of keepsake glasses!
Next big adventure was the Indy 500! On our way there we stopped MB Roland Distillery (Harvest Host). Wow! Talk about amazing whiskey! Don’t forget to try the Pink Lemonaide! You’ll thank me..I promise. We left with WAY TOO much whiskey!
Indy 500!!! Don’t miss it! Put it on your bucket list!!! I lack the words to describe how amazing the Indy 500 was! The speed, the race, the people, the venue…it was all so great. We had amazing seats in the “penthouse” section with amazing views of the track. I can’t wait to go again.
When we planned on going to the Indy 500 we had booked a spot near the track. Bobby had done some reading of review and was questioning if we should stay there. But we figured it would be ok. NOT! We drove up and the entire place was a mud pit. There were 3 other trailers there that clearly had lived there for a very long time. There was piled up trash everywhere and the few homes near were covered in bars. The guy who checked us in appeared to be on something and we knew we couldn’t stay. We drove in to turn around and almost got stuck in the mud. Thankfully, we were able to leave and we found Raceview RV Park which was about 10-15 minutes away. It was located across the street from the Lucas Oil Speedway so despite rain and cold, we checked out a race.
