October 31, 2022, we left our beloved home town and hit the road again. For several months, we stayed at Sugar Barge RV Resort in Bethel Island. What an amazing time we had. From moving our baby girl into her new place, watching her graduate and begin her career, to doctor appointments and boat rides, to baseball games and tons of family visits, and way too much beer and wine…it was so good to be “home” again.
While staying at Sugar Barge, we visited with lifelong friends and lots of family but we also made some amazing new friends that I know we’ll see again in the future.

Our first stop of course was Casa de Fruita for some yummy snacks for the days to come.

Then, we were on our way again to Paicines Ranch (Harvest Host) located in Paicines, California. What a delightful drive! We enjoyed the cool temperatures with the wind blowing in our hair with our tunes playing. Awe! Total relaxation.
At Paicines Ranch, they had a welcome note waiting for us along with our pre-purchased beef. I can’t wait to make a yummy dish to enjoy while remembering this day on our travels.

The welcome note had explicit directions on where we could park. We were Harvest Host lot #2 next to the Event Barn and the Mill & Silos. We were the only rig there so we picked a spot where we had a view from our front door. The lot is dirt with gravel. On this Halloween Monday, the ranch was very quiet with just a few workers milling around.

Our next stop was Pismo! One of my favorite places to visit. We secured a spot at the Pismo Beach State Park Oceano Campground.
What a great campground. We backed up to the fresh water lagoon. There was a nice paved trail throughout the campground and we were a quick walk to the beach. We spent two nights here and enjoyed some amazing weather.

We spent one night at Geissinger Winery (Harvest Host). What a cute little town!
Our next stop was Sun Outdoors San Diego Bay! What an amazing rv resort! Beautiful, paved sites each with their own fire pit, chairs, and a table. It was really nice. We were next to the exit and had a view of the water! We were a quick walk to the one of the dog parks, the pool, restaurant and activity center! What a luxury resort!

Our daughter and son-in-law met up with us and we spent our time exploring San Diego and enjoyed great food!

We said goodbye to California and headed east! First stop..Yuma, Arizona! We stayed at KoFa Ko-Op! Guys, they had the sweetest people in this park! So sweet! We had an axel alignment done on the trailer so we took care of business while we waited.

Next up was Picacho Peak State Park! I was so excited for this stay. We were going to meet up with friends that we met when we were traveling in Tennessee 6 months ago! AND I was going to celebrate my birthday with them! These few days here were SO good for the soul! There’s nothing quite like being with friends.

Our time with Dave & Kathy ended way too quickly and we were off to Meteor Crater RV Park in Winslow, Arizona. After a long day of driving, we arrived exhausted. It’s a pretty remote area with not much around. The next day we visited Winslow.

And the Crater

Our trip through Arizona was short and sweet. Our main goal of this trip was to see Dave & Kathy and go to Winslow. Stay tuned for our next adventure!
